I am fulfilling my promises from Instagram posts. Today’s article can be called my review of wellness in Czechia that is so much celebrated and excellently rated by Instagram users. You asked me why I don’t share my tips for hotels, restaurants, and other different places when I travel that much. The reason is simple, you need photos for proper review and since I am in a position of companion, I can’t always take photos. I don’t want to post downloaded photos from photo banks or from internet. And trust me, taking great shots isn’t a question of few minutes. I don’t think that it’s appropriate to spend half of the dinner by taking pictures when someone invited me. But there are of course some clients that don’t mind so I got some pictures :-)
Another reason why I didn’t post so many recommendations is that I usually use Instagram as a source of inspiration. So, I didn’t feel like I’d show you something new…
On the other hand, I’ve visited all of the places that I am going to talk about in today’s article many times because I am quite conservative not only about cosmetics but about this as well. If I like one place with one client, I don’t mind going back with different one :-) There aren’t so many places with high level of gastronomy, pleasant wine list (because let’s be honest, sometimes it’s hard to please someone who really knows something about wines), lovely customer service and great spa. But it happened to me sometimes that if I went to the same location more frequently, the personal greeted me as a frequent customer (luckily for me it was discreetly ;) ).
The list is ranked by my preferences.
My most favourite place in Czechia is far from Prague but it’s definitely worth it. It’s hotel Miura at Čeladná (https:/www.miura.cz). I am not sure with the number of my stays there, but it was at least 7 times. It’s a modern design hotel (just the visit of the hotel is quite similar to a gallery visit, lobby is full of art pieces, the sculptures are made by David Černý), perfect spa, amazing masseurs, top cuisine (their menu for degustation). And I consider this as the best places in Czechia. If I can choose, I always love to get back to Beskydy. If you have the choice to go there during weekdays or weekends, I’d suggest you to go there during week because the weekends mostly during golf season are quite busy there not only in spa but also at the restaurant+for the golf there is always someone waiting for another flight. But I don’t know about better place for golfers. If you are lazy to walk you can have the golf car called directly to the hotel. The older golf course The Old Course is pleasant also for less skilled golfers. On the contrary, The New Course is quite tricky. The first nine holes look easy but when I first played there, I started questioning the rating. But from the 10th hole, you need to overcome few tricky bio zones and trenches, btw I lost plenty of my pink golf balls :D So the rating 140 is accurate :-)
Chateau Mcely
The newly renovated hunting lodge Chateau Mcely is celebrated all over the Instagram (https://www.chateaumcely.cz/). I am not that amazed by this place (I’ve been there three times). As you already know, I love spa, pools, saunas and Chateau Mcely isn’t that great at this. Spa zone, if you can even call it like that, is separated from the main building so it means that you need to go outside and that’s not that great during autumn or winter. Jacuzzi is outside for 4 to 6 people (as I see it, this jacuzzi isn’t supposed to be used for business and place for more hosts but for your own personal use). Anyway, that means that you are waiting outside until there is space in the jacuzzi. Small garden house offers sauna, you can also cool in the outside pond but that didn’t look compelling to me neither.
The lack of paces wort visiting nearby is another disadvantage for me. You can rent a bike or walk to a village nearby (which can be really open-air museum experience for some foreigners :-) And due to the lack of possibilities how to be active and sporty (there isn’t even a gym which I missed a lot and also some clients did) so we always had a massage reserved. I have to say that it wasn’t anything special (For example Thai massages are don by Thai masseurs at Miura). But I have to say that the interior is truly amazing, and the owners really outdone themselves. They didn’t forget any detail, each room has different design, the wine cellar and menu prepared by chefs is excellent and the breakfasts are one of the best I’ve tried in Czechia. I feel like it’s the ideal option for one or two nights because it’s only an hour ride from Prague. I wouldn’t stay there longer. I’ve experienced a dinner in a Golden Hall with a Thousand of candles which was really romantic and unforgettable experience, but I didn’t see the offer the last time I went there…
So right now, I am keeping my eyes on the wellness hotel V Nebi which looks amazing, thanks to the Instagram. But I haven’t got the chance to book a reservation in this adorable place at Jizerské hory since there are only 13 rooms. I have seen this hotel at Michaele Jonáš’s profile which I have already mentioned plenty of times as an inspiration not only for fashion but also cosmetic.
If you want to travel but you don’t have that much time, another tip would be an afternoon or night spent at hotel Emblem at Prague with their private jacuzzi https://www.emblemprague.com/homepage). But honestly, I am not sure if you can book only the jacuzzi and massages because we’ve always spent there night as well. But the view on Prague castle and other historical monuments is truly phenomenal.
And if the Miura hotel was full which happened a few times, I’ve chosen the alternative Chateau Herálec (https://www.chateauheralec.com at Vysočina which I can also gladly recommend :)
