When you have a baby and you’re writing a blog about sex, you have to accept that half of the people will tell you that they don’t care about the topics no matter how often you want to write about it. And the second half will ask you every time how is it possible to have a sexy lifestyle with a baby and if it’s still sexy, how does our baby sleep, eat, etc…
To be honest, if you want to sleep till 10am, enjoy non-binding, careless lifestyle, maybe wait with the decision to have a baby. Or go to the toy shop and buy a doll because the doll will at least sleep all night…
And for the ones of you who are interested in it or are expecting to be in this situation, I’d like to share some tips that worked for us, and we had more time for ourselves…
You know that I don’t like so called professionals who write guides about everything they are experiencing, and they claim that their experiences are great source of information. I haven’t graduated from medicine so the information that I’m going to share with you today are only my experiences and what worked for our son (and I admit that it may differ in the future with other babies that we want to have) and we had not only chill at home but also a will and energy for ourselves.
KEEP CALM
When I sometimes didn’t handle well my temperament and my darling had different point of view, our lovely little boy became a Satan just in a second and he screamed and screamed and screamed… And I understand him, I’d scream too but there wasn’t time for that because I was taking care of him. It’s old and everyone heard it many times but it’s true that every baby is different as their parents are. Respect your needs and feelings and the more calm you are the more calmness you’ll have at home.
SOLVE THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
It’s known that little babies sleep most of the time of the day, which is true, but they can’t have issues with their digestive system. I’m not the protagonist of breastfeeding no matter what which I already talked about in a different article. If you know that you don’t have the will to keep your diet clean and avoid food that’ll cause issues to your baby so they’ll cry all days and all nights, it’s better if you don’t breastfeed at all. And I feel like it’s the same if you have some food allergies (which is my case), so think about your health situation (and the health situation of your whole family) with your doctor and then decide which baby formula are you going to use.
COLIC
I hope that you ‘ll be the lucky ones who don’t have to deal with this. But I have tested that this can occur even if you use the most hypoallergenic milk and it’s not easy. I’m not really anxious and over sensitive but if your baby is in pain the whole day you really don’t have the right mood to take out sexy lingerie and toys in the evening. That’s why I swear by bathing.
BATHING
This truly worked for us for already mentioned colic, but also to keep the baby entertained. And I have to say that from all the things we bought for the baby no matter if it was a toys or equipment, the best investment was into the lessons of bathing. The lector came to our place and showed us during few evenings various movements. Not only that our boy loves water since then but every time some problems with digestion occur (which happened with complementary food), we’re not waiting for anything, and I take him to bathroom and exercise with him in the water for almost half an hour. And I’ve tested that in two ours is everything that was bothering him outside and he sleeps calmly.
So, every time we want to play the same way we did before we had a baby no matter if we are at home or somewhere, we take him to have a bath/pool and exercise with him. And since he’s older we incorporate various animal toys, and we are sure that we won’t know about him for quite some time, and we have time for ourselves.
BABYOGA
There aren’t many lessons for babies which is a pity. It’s nice to have a regular activity that keeps the baby entertained and develops their motoric. I like the fact that it’s not only about baby exercises or mum and baby exercises, but we also learned some massages that help babies to relax and have a peaceful sleep. I incorporated baby yoga in today’s article because you can practise everything you learnt at home- so you can help your baby from a stomach pain and also to grow properly. And the reward is peacefully sleeping baby and free time for yourself after the exercise…
BABYSITTING
I have mentioned it before – if you have grandmas, grandpas or other family members who are willing to spend some time with your baby, appreciate them and thank them…
Everyone has a right for rest and for themselves. And if you don’t have anyone to help you, you can easily get into the stereotype „I’m going to be with him right now and then you “, which doesn’t help the relationship. Because we don’t have anyone to babysit for us and we wanted to avoid the stereotype we were looking for a babysitter for a long time to find the right lady to for example go out with him for example around the hotel, so we have at least a moment just for ourselves.
